The Danish state gives universities money to support international master's students, and the University of Copenhagen distributes its share among its own applicants. You qualify if you are a citizen of a country outside the EU, EEA and Switzerland, are admitted to one of the university's master's programmes and hold a time-limited residence permit for study in Denmark. No separate application is needed: every non-EU/EEA applicant is considered automatically.

What it covers

Part of the tuition

The award can have two parts: a full or partial tuition fee waiver and an amount towards basic living expenses. Some faculties — Theology, for example — warn explicitly that the decision is generally made after admission has been offered and the fee charged, so you cannot count on it when deciding whether to accept a place; if the scholarship is granted later, the fee is reimbursed.

  • Other conditionThe applicant must be admitted to a master's programme at the university and hold a time-limited Danish residence permit granted for higher education study.

Dates

There is no separate deadline: the scholarship is considered together with your programme application. Work to the admission deadline of the programme you choose.

There is no separate scholarship deadline — submit the master's application on time and the university assesses you automatically. The outcome is communicated directly through the application portal, and the timing differs from faculty to faculty.
