In Finland students from outside the EU and EEA pay tuition on English-taught programmes, and the universities themselves cut that fee through their own scholarships. Aalto University awards a very limited number of Excellence Scholarships to fee-paying international applicants, at both bachelor's and master's level. Citizens of Uzbekistan fall into exactly that fee-liable group, and the selection is purely on academic merit.

What it covers

Full tuition

The award is a tuition fee waiver covering the full fee for the normative length of the programme — three years for a bachelor's degree, two for a master's. Living costs are not covered: the university states that a student needs at least EUR 800 a month of their own money.

Dates

There is no separate deadline: the scholarship is considered together with your programme application. Work to the admission deadline of the programme you choose.

There is no separate scholarship form: you tick the scholarship box inside the admission application, and only during the application period. Once that period closes the scholarship can no longer be requested, and the decision arrives together with the admission decision.
