The University of Helsinki waives tuition for applicants to its English-taught master's programmes who are liable to pay fees. A waiver covers either 50 or 100 per cent of the fee, and most of those awarded are the 50 per cent kind. English-taught bachelor's applicants are not covered by the scheme.

The waiver touches tuition only: the university states plainly that it offers no scholarships for living expenses. To keep it a student must stay full-time and earn at least 55 ECTS a year, and progress is reviewed after the first year.

Dates
There is no separate deadline: the scholarship is considered together with your programme application. Work to the admission deadline of the programme you choose.
There is no separate scholarship deadline: the waiver is requested on the same form as the master's application, so the programme's admission deadline is the one that counts. Selection is on academic performance and motivation.
