This scheme goes to countries that have a cultural or educational exchange programme with India. The 2026-27 allocation covers 23 countries and gives Uzbekistan five places across bachelor's, master's and doctoral study. Medicine, law and integrated programmes are not accepted.

What it covers
Full: tuition and living costs
Tuition is paid to the university, and the student receives a monthly stipend, a house rent allowance, a yearly contingency allowance and a thesis allowance. Airfare is provided only for students from Mexico and Turkmenistan, so a scholar from Uzbekistan pays their own travel. The page publishes no figures.
