Under its bilateral education and science agreements Latvia offers state scholarships to foreign students at Latvian universities, and Uzbekistan is on the list of partner countries. An award covers one academic year, up to ten months, and a student who wants a second year has to apply again. Bachelor applicants must already have completed at least one academic year of study; master applicants need a bachelor's diploma.

What it covers
Monthly stipend
The award is a monthly allowance that the student may put towards tuition or towards accommodation and meals. The agency's page does not give the figure in text, so none is quoted here. VIAA says plainly that the scholarship does not cover all living costs in Latvia, and holders arrange their own insurance.
