Lund University hands out around SEK 26 million a year to strong applicants from outside the EU/EEA who have to pay tuition fees. The scholarship is mainly for master's level, with only the bachelor's programmes in Development Studies, Mathematics, Physics and Physical Geography included as exceptions. Selection is purely on academic merit; financial need plays no part in it.

Part of the tuition
The grant may cover part or all of the tuition fee, and the share depends on the programme's and faculty's budget rather than on how strong the student is. Living costs are not included: the applicant still has to show the Swedish Migration Agency their own funds.
