The Slovak government funds full bachelor's and master's degrees at Slovak public universities for citizens of a set list of countries that includes Uzbekistan; SAIA administers the scheme. Each country has its own number of places and its own supported fields — natural, technical, medical, agricultural and social sciences. Teaching is in Slovak, so an applicant without the language first completes a ten-month language and professional training course.
