What you need to apply

General country requirements

This entry is general Bachelor’s admission in Italy: the university is in the catalogue but its individual programme pages are not verified yet, so the country's general requirements are shown instead.

Check the university’s own page before you plan around it.

Italy, bachelor’s

Italian admission starts with pre-enrolment on the Universitaly portal: the university validates your application and the consulate then issues the visa. Italy normally expects 12 years of schooling, so an 11-year Uzbek attestat is usually topped up with a completed year at an Uzbek university. The university may ask for a Declaration of Value or a CIMEA Statement of Comparability. Italian-taught programmes ask for B2 and a language test; English-taught ones for IELTS.

With an Uzbek attestat (11 years)

One year at a university in Uzbekistan

An 11-year attestat falls short of Italy’s twelve-year expectation: the usual top-up is one completed year at an Uzbek university. The chosen university and the current ministerial circular set the exact requirement.

Typical English-taught equivalent. Confirm with the university.

Minimum grades and years of school

  • 12 years of school

Italian admission practice for non-EU applicants is built on a secondary qualification obtained after at least twelve years of schooling, with extra university years required where the home system is shorter. Confirm the current ministerial circular — this template did not read the figure off it.

  • 3.5 on the Uzbek 5-point scale

An indicative attestat average. Italian universities publish their own thresholds and many run an entrance test, national for medicine and architecture.

Other requirements

  • A qualification the university assesses as suitable for the Italian degree you are applying to

The assessment is the individual institution’s to make, and it is what the pre-enrolment validation records.

  • Pre-enrolment application on the Universitaly portal, validated by the chosen university

Non-EU applicants who need a visa pre-enrol on Universitaly; the university validates the application and says which documents it checked.

  • Health insurance valid in Italy, or enrolment in the national health service after arrival

    Not checked yet

Required for the visa and for the residence permit.

  • Declaration of Value, or a CIMEA Statement of Comparability, where the university asks for oneOptional

The Declaration of Value is not compulsory in itself, but where the institution requires it, it becomes a condition of the visa. CIMEA or an Italian mission issues it.
