York University considers international undergraduate applicants for entrance scholarships automatically, on the basis of the final admission average. No separate application is required: anyone whose average is high enough is in the running. Some of the awards continue into later years if the student completes at least 24 credits a year and keeps the required GPA.

What it covers
Part of the tuition
The awards run from 2,500 to 37,500 Canadian dollars. The top tier goes to an admission average above 90 percent and pays 15,000 in year one and 7,500 in each of years two to four. The money is applied to fees only; residence and meal plans are paid separately.

- Other conditionMust be enrolled full time in a York undergraduate programme and paying international tuition fees, with a final admission average of 75 percent or higher.
- Other conditionStudents admitted to Computer Science, Cybersecurity or Engineering are excluded from the top Scholarship of Distinction tier, with a stated exception for Fall 2026 applicants finishing high school under the Ontario curriculum.
- Other conditionEntrance scholarships can be combined with faculty-based awards but not with York's Prestigious Scholarships.

Dates
There is no separate deadline: the scholarship is considered together with your programme application. Work to the admission deadline of the programme you choose.
There is no separate scholarship deadline. Applying to York as an international student for the intake is enough, and consideration follows automatically from the final admission average.
