¥48,000

48,000 yen a month at universities, graduate schools, junior colleges and colleges of technology, and 30,000 yen at Japanese language institutions. Tuition itself is not covered.

  • Other conditionThe page asks for a grade point average of at least 2.30 for the previous year, calculated on JASSO's own scale, and for that level to be kept while the scholarship runs.
  • Other conditionJapanese at JLPT N2 or an EJU Japanese score of 200 or above, or English at CEFR B2 or above, except on preparatory and language-institution tracks.
  • Other conditionMonthly remittances from home must average less than 90,000 yen, and the student must hold the Student residence status.
