This scholarship funds one semester, at most five months, of Lithuanian studies at a Lithuanian university. Students at a university abroad from any country may apply, the exception being citizens of Russia and Belarus and anyone studying at institutions in those countries. At least half of the study plan has to consist of Lithuanian studies subjects such as philology, history or ethnology.

What it covers
Monthly stipend
Selected candidates receive a monthly scholarship of EUR 962, with the exact sum varying slightly with the number of study days. The money is for the holder alone: there is no family allowance and it cannot be combined with other funding.

Cycle 2026
You first obtain a Conditional Agreement from the chosen university and then apply separately for the scholarship. For the autumn 2026 semester applications closed on 17 April 2026, and incomplete or late applications are not considered.
