Harvard College gives international undergraduates exactly the same need-based financial aid as US students. Admission is need-blind, so a family's ability to pay never affects the decision, and the college meets 100 percent of the demonstrated financial need of every admitted student. Aid is awarded as a grant rather than a loan, and the size of the award depends on what the family is assessed as able to contribute.

What it covers
Full: tuition and living costs
The award is set by the assessed need and the package is made up of scholarship (grant) funds plus a student contribution that is usually earned through campus employment. Harvard states that it never requires a student to take out loans, and the exact figure follows from the family's own financial documents.
