What you need to apply

General country requirements

This entry is general Bachelor’s admission in Poland: the university is in the catalogue but its individual programme pages are not verified yet, so the country's general requirements are shown instead.

Check the university’s own page before you plan around it.

Poland, bachelor’s

Poland asks for a school certificate that entitles you to higher education at home; the Uzbek attestat does, though a NAWA recognition statement is often required as well. You apply straight to the university, and some fields add an entrance examination. Every document is apostilled and translated by a sworn translator. English-taught programmes usually ask for IELTS 6.0 or a B2 certificate.

With an Uzbek attestat (11 years)

Straight into the first year

The Uzbek attestat entitles you to higher education, so no bridging year is normally needed — only the NAWA recognition statement and the apostille. A Polish-taught programme still needs the preparatory year.

Documents

  • School certificate

    The school-leaving certificate itself.

    Probably right

  • Academic transcript

    The grade supplement.

    Probably right

  • Passport

A passport valid for the whole stay; it is also what the national visa and the residence card are issued against.

  • Photograph

Passport photographs for the university file and the visa application.

  • Apostille

A foreign education document must be legalised or apostilled. Uzbekistan is a party to the Hague Convention, so the apostille is the route.

    Probably right

  • Certified translation

A sworn translation into Polish (or English, where the university accepts it) of every education document.

    Probably right

  • Financial statement

The national visa asks for proof of funds for tuition, living costs and the return journey. The consulate names the current figure.

  • Motivation letterOptional

Not part of the statutory set, but many private universities and English-taught programmes ask for one.

  • English certificateOptional

For an English-taught programme; a Polish-taught one asks for a Polish certificate instead.

Tests

  • Any one of these is enough

    IELTS 6

Typical entry score for an English-taught bachelor in Poland. Not an official figure.

  • TOEFL iBT 72

Typical English-taught equivalent. Confirm with the university.

  • Duolingo English Test 100

Accepted by a number of Polish universities; confirm before booking.

  • Teaching is in PolishOptional

Required for a Polish-taught programme, usually at B1–B2 or through a preparatory year. Not needed for an English-taught one.

Minimum grades and years of school

  • 11 years of school

Polish recognition looks at whether the certificate entitles you to higher education in the issuing country rather than counting years, which is why the 11-year attestat is generally workable here.

  • 3.5 on the Uzbek 5-point scale

An indicative attestat average. Universities set their own thresholds and some run an entrance examination where the Matura does not cover the subject.

Other requirements

  • A matriculation certificate or an equivalent document entitling you to higher education

Polish first-cycle admission is built on a Matura certificate or another equivalent document.

  • NAWA recognition statement for the foreign secondary certificate, unless an agreement covers it

A recognition statement is not required for certificates from EU, OECD or EFTA countries, or those covered by a recognition agreement, or IB and EB certificates. Check whether Uzbekistan is covered before paying for one.

  • Health insurance valid in Poland for the whole stay

    Not checked yet

Required for the visa and for enrolment; students from outside the EU normally buy a policy or join the Polish NFZ voluntarily.
